General Information

This program is designed to observe multiple instances of seti. Each instance is displayed in a single line which shows some data about the analysis, calculation time or user.

The Mainwindow

The mainwindow shows the data of all konfigurated setis. The data is displayed in a tabbed grid, each tab shows special data.

Workunits

Displays an overwiew over all observed units.

Userinfo

Shows data about the user(s).

Times

This page shows the times needed to and required to finish. Note: If the unit is not completed, the times for remain, finish and total are interpolated.

Analysis 1

This page displays spike and gaussian data of the analysis process.

Analysis 2

This page displays pulse and triplet data of the analysis process.

Transfertimes

This page shows data about the transfer times

Location

This page shows data of the sky location od the units

Versions

This page shows some versionsinfo of the client and server software.

Usage

Modifying The Watchlist

Add A New Watch

Press the plusbutton in the toolbar or select the menu Edit Watches | Add. A menu is displayed, where a name for the watch and the path to the seti data are entered. The name can be freeley defiened (is displayes in the column Name on all Grids), the path must point to the temporary generated files of the seti program. The temporary seti files analysed by look@seti are state.txt, user_info.txt, work_unit.txt and result.txt. Click on the magnify button to select the directory.
Press OK to take over the new watch.

Edit Watch

Press the editbutton in the toolbar or select the menu Edit Watches | Add. The menu from add watch is displayed. The changes made here are written to the current selected watch instead of a new watch.

Remove A Watch

The currently selected watch in the grid is removed.
Press the minusbutton in the toolbar or select the menu Edit Watches | Remove.

Remove All Watches

All watches are removed (without confirmation).
Press the x-button in the toolbar or select the menu Edit Watches | Remove All.

Load A Watchlist

Press the open folder button in the toolbar or select the menu Files | Open.
Load a previously defiened watchlist. The file has the extension .seti. If there are already defiened watches, they are not deleted, the new list is added to the existing watches.

Save The Watchlist

Press the floppy disk button in the toolbar or select the menu Files | Save.
Saves the currently defiened watchlist to disk. The file becomes the extension .seti.

History

This is a one week hack :-)

Detailed View

Press the Magnify-Button in the toolbar to display the detailed view. More than one detailview can displayed, but only one for each seti. The detailed view is displayed for the currently in the list marked seti.
Note: The detailed view uses random values to visualize the progress in the graphics part.

Skymap View

The skymap view displays for all setis the sky location of the data. The position is marked, when the state is working(yellow), waiting (red) or finished(green). Press the earth-button on the toolbar to display the skymap.

Panel View

The panel view displays the status of one watch in the panel bar. There is a configure dialog, what is displayed on the panel.
Right-click on the desired watch in the mainwindow to bring up a menu. Here select Panel View to display the status in the panel.
Select menu Options | Panel view to configure the panel view. This menu is also reachable by right-clicking on the panel window and select displaying.
Left-clicking on the panel view shows/hides the mainwindow.

Options

In the options dialog is the updateinterval adjusted and an auto load file can be specified. Select menu options|options to display the dialog.

Updateinterval

The updateinterval is the time between two refreshes. Shorter times makes more actual data but it can make also problems: more processor time is needed which is stolen the seti process and if the seti process needs more time because a gaussinan calculation, the status can switch to stopped

Automatic Loading

Automatic loading specifies a watchlist which is autonatic loaded at startup time. If no file is specified, nothing is loaded.

To save the options select menu Options|save.

Notes

100% Display

Most of the workunits doesn't reach exactly 100%.

Changing Status

On a slow computer the status may togge between waiting and working.
